SUN AT LAST

Well as I get my few lines down this Sunday evening the sun is shining and isn’t it so welcome. As everyone has said after all the bad weather we had over the past while, isn’t it wonderful to feel a bit of heat IN THE BONES.

Hopefully it will stay with us now for a while at least. It gives an opportunity to everyone to get out and about to the beach and Ballybunion was supposedly packed today and they need it along with the other seaside towns, especially after Covid and their summer season is so short to just Survive at least.

What an exciting game, to say the least, between Kerry and Dublin, going down to the last kick of the ball in extra time. I’m sure there were many hearts racing, to put it mildly. Next Sunday will be as exciting hopefully as we all pin our hopes on Limerick beating Kilkenny in the All Ireland Final, keep those flags flying.

Sincere congrats are extended to Patsy Browne, son of Helen and Pat, Athea House, who, on Friday last, was married to Julie Moloney, daughter of Dan Moloney of Abbeyfeale. The Nuptial Ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Killarney. The bestman was Tom Liston and the bridesmaid was Shauna O’Riordan of Abbeyfeale. The Reception was held at The Killarney Oaks Hotel where a great day was enjoyed by everyone. The After Party was held at Brown Joe’s here in Athea on Saturday evening. Best wishes to the newly weds.

The J.P McManus golf tournament was a huge success attracting huge crowds and putting Adare on the Map all over the world, and wasn’t it great to see Andy McMahon here on the Glin Rd.  speak on one of the mornings, giving everyone an insight into the layout of the course etc, having been interviewed by Tommy Bowe on T V AM.

A reminder that on this Thursday, Good -To -Go, starts at the hall for over 55s, from 12-2 pm. organised by Athea GAA,  it will run for 4 weeks. It’s a free course of PHYSICAL ACTIVITY  along with a Cuppa and a Chat and is sponsored by Limerick Sports Partnership. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the get together.
