Athea Coiste na nÓg
Matches:
Athea N.S. 2–1 Ballingarry N.S. 2–4
The local school team bowed out of the West Limerick primary schools league on Monday when they lost a pulsating game against Ballingarry in Ballingarry. The game was very tight all through with everyone marking close, at half time they led 1–1 to 1–0. With ten minutes left we trailed 2–2 to 2–1 and despite getting on top at this stage we could not get through for any more scores as Ballingarry got 2 points from breakaway attacks to win by 3pts. The team played very well as they gave it their all from start to finish as they did in the drawn game and earlier victories over Ballyhahill and Foynes.
Team: Cathal O’Brien, David O’ Sullivan, Ciara O’Shea, Andy Ahern, Seamus Leahy, Micheál Dalton,(Captain), Ciana Murphy, Joseph Dalton, Alex McEldowney, Grace Ryan and John Sexton, subs Jamie O’Mahony, Sinead Hunt, Rachel Greaney, Ciara Hunt, Aibhilín Murphy and Claire Carmody.
