Knockdown will be buzzing on this coming Saturday night when George Langan’s Country Music show on www.corkmusicstation.com will be going live from the Knockdown Arms from 7.30 pm to 10.30 pm.  This will be followed by the Billy O’Brien Band which will also be live on air. If you would like to send a greeting to any of your family or friends, wherever in the world they may be, you can do so live on air on the night. This event is to coincide with the Knockdown Vintage – Patrick Langan Memorial Run Presentation which will take place at 9.30 on the night. I hope Ta is ready for the crowd!

Last Friday night many people were able to tick one thing off their bucket list – seeing the Northern Lights. Years ago, since we were young, my father told us of the Northern Lights and we spent many a night standing at the door before bedtime looking for these lights. Well, can you imagine the delight and surprise last Friday night when I looked out my front, north facing, door and saw this streak of pink and green across the sky. I ran for the camera to prove I wasn’t imagining and was more surprised to see that the photo showed up even sharper colours. I would say most of the population got to see them on Friday night so now there is no need to go booking flights to Iceland or Norway. The whole sky looked like it was painted with a huge brush of colours. Isn’t nature wonderful!
