Domhnall, in his page last week,  was remarking on all the plays coming together at this time. It usually happens but we must try and fit in as many as we can. Following on from Athea’s performances in March we have the ABHA BHÁN PLAYERS, who will stage Norman Robbins play A TOMB WITH A VIEW in Ballyhahill Parish Hall on Friday and Saturday April 5, 6 12 and 13. The cast members are John Buttery, Tony O’Shaughnessy, Norma Nolan, Jayne Daly, Caroline Gee, Terence McSweeney, Teresa Cregan/Stack, Peg Prendeville, Patricia Flanagan and Eimhin O’Brien who is from Listowel and who joined the group very recently and filled a very important role. As seating is limited it is advisable to book your tickets. Details for this will be provided next week. Wishing all actors and groups and audiences the best of fun.

I extend sympathy to a past library colleague, Mike Sweeney, formerly of Abbeyfeale library but now in Newcastle West library on the death of his father last weekend. May he rest in peace.

There was a very interesting piece recently in the Irish Times about Marian Prendergast from Glin,  one of the few female undertakers in the country. She describes how her grandfather Tom started the business in 1893 and how she used to work with her Dad Joe as a child. We in West Limerick have had a few female undertakers Including Teresa Mulvihill Athea now retired and Ferris Undertakers Shanagolden, all offering a very professional service.

Confirmation ceremonies will be held in Loughill/Ballyhahill and Glin Parishes this Thursday March 7th.

And on Friday we have to say Yes or No in the Referendum
