Sincere sympathies to Pat and Bridget Dalton on the death of Pat’s mother Hannie Dalton, Glenbawn at the weekend. She was a nice kind lady. May she rest in peace.

It should be a fun night in Knockdown  this Friday night January 27th with a  Quiz at the Knockdown Arms organised by ‘The Druids of Lalaland Act’. This is a fundraiser for the Lip Sync Act organised by Athea GAA so the charge is €5 per person plus a raffle on the night. ‘Tis all new to us here in Knockdown area but it promises to be a good night. All welcome.

Ballyhahill N.S. Parents Association is also organising a fun quiz in Knockdown on Friday February 24th to raise funds for the school. It is a sad fact that most schools now rely on local fundraisers to enable them to keep going. All support will be appreciated as always. More details later.

The Abha Bhán Parish Park committee is organising a 10K run or a 5K run/walk on the 9th April. I will be giving more details nearer to the time. Meanwhile you can all be getting fit.

Gerald Griffins victory dinner/dance in the Devon Inn on 11 February is almost upon us. Be sure and have your tickets bought as you will not be let in without one.  A great night is guaranteed and it is a chance to celebrate the clubs heroic successes on the pitch in 2016 which brought great excitement and pride to our parish.
