Féile Weekend:

Our long awaited Féile weekend has arrived and the Warwickshire team will be arriving in the village on Thursday night. It is going to be a very busy weekend, the highlight of which will be the match between Athea and Warwickshire on Saturday morning in Páirc na nGael at 11am. It would be great if a big crowd would attend to show your support for both teams. It all starts on Friday evening when we travel to Ballymcelligot to take on the locals and Boston USA in the first two matches. After we play Warwickshire on Saturday morning we then travel to Kanturk to play a quarter final. From there we travel to Newcastle West to take part in the Féile Parade. We will then return back to the village where we will dine and entertain our visitors. If we progress in the competition we will be travelling to Gneeveguilla/Knocknagree for a semi final on Sunday Morning and the finals are played in Rathmore on Sunday afternoon.  This promises to be a fantastic weekend and we would like to wish our Féile team all the best for the competition. We would like to thank our main sponsors Athea and district Credit Union for their generous sponsorship. Johnny and Betty Cotter for their continued support and for allowing us to fundraise in the bar with the donkey derby and the band night. We would also like to thank all those who have supported our fundraisers over the past number of weeks and we would hope that you will continue to show your support this weekend by coming along to support our boys in Páirc na nGael.
