Training for the U8s has finished until after Christmas and will resume in early January. All parents/players will be notified of the recommencement date.

ATHEA UTD CHARITY SOCCER TOURNAMENT
Athea Utd are again organizing a charity tournament on the Astro Turf at The Vales on St Stephens Day will money raised this year to The Going Strong. The first game is timed for 11am sharp and is open to all players with an Athea connection. Trophies for the winners and runners up etc will be presented that evening at 7pm at The Top of The Town, Athea.

RULES / GUIDELINES
- First game starts at 11am sharp.
- Seven (7) minutes a side.
- Players are asked to arrive at least fifteen (15) minutes before kick-off times.
- All games will start at designated times.
- Moulded studs or astro-turf runners only. No metal studs.
PRESENTATIONS
Presentations of trophies will take place at The Top of the Town at 7pm. All are welcome to attend.
NOTE – All money raised will go to The Going Strong. We will have buckets in a few locations at The Vales on St Stephens Day and anybody wishing do make a donation can do so. There will be hot beverages available, tea, coffee and soup as well as sandwiches. All are welcome to The Vales on St Stephens Day for out now annual Christmas Tournament.

Athea Coiste na nÓg:
Table Quiz:
A date for your diaries, Athea Coiste na nÓg table quiz will take place in the Top of the Town on Monday night December 28th at 9pm. The quiz master is John Hunt so everyone will have to have their thinking caps on for a very enjoyable night.
Winter Welly Walk:
A Winter Welly Walk will take place on Friday January 1st to raise funds to help with the cost of hosting Feile. Registration will take place in the hall at 11.30am. The walk starts at 12 noon and everyone must wear Wellies.
It’s a two hour walk through forests, mountain top and a ringfort and it promises to be an enjoyable day for all the family. The cost is €10 per family or €5 per person.
Coaching:
If there is anyone who would like to get involved in any way with any of our underage teams, especially with our U6s & U8s in 2016 please contact Jacqueline O’ Connor on 086-0670091. We have a great club and we would love for parents to join our fantastic team of coaches for the coming year.
Calendar:
Our 2016 Calendar is on sale now at Rose’s shop and Collins’ shop at a cost of €10. It has loads and loads of pictures from the year gone by in Coiste na nÓg. These would make a lovely present for people both home and abroad.
Athea Gun Club
Athea Gun Club will hold their Fundraising Dance at the Top of the Town on Sunday, December 27th.
Prizes as follows:

2nd – 32” TV
3rd- €50 Hamper.
Tickets can be obtained from any member of the Gun Club
