Athea/Mountcollins Rangers 2-07       Gael na Sionna  4-08

Athea/Mountcollins Rangers Minors travelled to Ballyhahill on Friday evening last to take on the Glin/ Ballyhahill combination of Gael na Sionna. We never really got going in this game and it was the home side that raced into a four point lead after ten minutes. James Ryan opened our account with a well taken point, but the opposition responded well with a point of their own. We came more into the game after twenty minutes and two points from Ronan Hayes and one from William Sexton closed the gap to a point. We fell asleep for the first five minutes of the second half conceding two goals and a point which ended the game as a contest. Ronan Hayes converted two frees, but the homes side added another goal and two points to extend their lead. We finished strongly with a goal from Ronan Hayes and a goal and a point from Sean Ryan. Cúl Camp:

The Cúl Camp finished on Friday last after a great week of coaching football, fun and games and matches. Limerick senior footballer Peter Nash visited the camp on Friday and was very popular with all the children. He even refereed the final of the U12/U14 league. Many thanks to the coaches, Damien Lacey, Pa O’Connor, Jemma Barrett, James Naughton and Conor O’ Sullivan. Christine Reidy was our camp leader and she did an excellent job for the entire week. Many thanks also to Rose Enright at Rose’s Shop who sponsored treats for all the children before they went home.

Well done to Micheál Ambrose and Shane Ambrose who both played with Limerick football teams recently. Micheál played with the U16 county team in the Woodlands Munster tournament and Shane played with the U15 county team in the Munster Humphrey Kelliher tournament in Cork.
