“ A wet and windy May fills the barns with corn and hay”. If that is true there will be plenty of feeding next year. Let us hope that the temperature improves soon.

Congratulations to Gretta and John Quinn, Glenbawn on their birth of their grandson Killian Kelly, firstborn child to their daughter Jennifer and husband Niall Kelly. Great news.

The Parish Mission begins in Ballyhahill church on Thursday night at 7.30 pm. All families, whether from the Parish or not, are invited. Mass on Friday morning at 7 am for those who wish to attend before work. This will be followed by devotions on Friday evening on the theme of healing of any kind of loss, eg death, emigration, separation, job. On Saturday morning at 11 am there will be Mass with anointing for the sick/housebound. The normal vigil Mass will be held at 6 pm for those who wish to attend and the closing of the Mission will be at 7.30pm. It is hoped that as many as possible attend the ceremonies, which is being conducted by the Vincentian Fathers.

The County Fleadh Ceoil will be held in Glin on the Bank holiday weekend with lots of music and entertainment promised. There is a traditional night in Knockdown this Friday night to get into the spirit of things.

Glin Library will be closed for two weeks from Wednesday 20th to June 3rd inclusive for annual holidays. I am off to see if I can find the sun in France!
