‘Congrats’

Sincere congrats and good wishes go to Aoife O’Shea (daughter of Maireád and Sean) of Templeathea who had a surprise 18th birthday party sprung on her on Sunday evening last at “The Winner’s Circle” in Abbeyfeale. Her family, relations and friends had a very enjoyable night.

Another birthday girl who celebrated her 30th on Saturday night also along with her friends etc., was Michelle Nash, daughter of Bridget and Bill Mulvihill of Upper Athea. Again everyone had a great night of celebrating.

Congrats to Billy Collins of Dirreen who celebrated “a special birthday” recently at Moore’s Bar in Carrigkerry.

Congrats to Elaine and Phillip Devine of Monagea who were blessed with their new baby boy Jack, a little brother for Bobby. Elaine is daughter of Mary and the late Moss Reidy of Knockdown. Congrats to Mary on becoming a “granny” again.

Those who took up the Church gate collection in aid of REHAB at the weekend thank sincerely all who gave so generously at all the Masses.

A great night to look forward to this Friday night at the Top of the Town for all the young soccer players when the Annual Athea Utd “Awards Night” will take place. And if last year’s gathering was anything to go by – this year should be equally as enjoyable. Congrats to all receiving awards.

We wish the Athea Intermediate team all the best for this Saturday, May 9th when they take on Cappamore in Feenagh at 7pm in the second round of the championship. The team are doing extremely well so far and hopefully Pat Higgins (trainer) and the boys will get all the support they deserve on the night.

Incidentally mark June 7th in your diary for the Adventure/Fun Run organized by the GAA. Last year’s run was very exciting – anyone willing to lend a hand contact Kevin O’Keeffe on 087-7636568 – now is the time for young and not so young to get out and about and prepare themselves for the run and if you’re fit enough take on the Adventure Run!

Congrats to Shane Ambrose (son of Charmaine and Noel) of Lower Dirreen who has been chosen to attend the West Munster U15 Rugby Cadets. Well done Shane, a rising sports star!

Sincere sympathy to the Vaughan families and their extended family and relatives in the locality on the death of Sheila O’Riordan in Feohanagh/Castlemahon last week, following her illness. ‘May the light of heaven by hers’.
