Thanks a Million

Stephen and Jacqueline would like to thank the kind people of Athea and surrounding areas for their tremendous support and generosity at the opening of the Coffee Shop and Tea Room at O’Halloran’s Garden Centre on Saturday, April 5th. Special thanks go to Mike and Helen O’Halloran’s Garden Centre, Griffin Meats, Athea and Rose and Michael of Brouder’s, Athea for their kind generosity in supplying prizes for the raffle and guess the balloon competition

We would also like to thank Cllr. Liam Galvin, Theresa O’Halloran, Joshua Tebbs and Shannon Daly for their help and support on and before the opening day. Your generosity raised a staggering €266.80! for MS Ireland. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

ATHEA COMMUNITY GAMES UPDATE

Congratulations to all three Athea girls who travelled to Foynes last Wednesday evening and came away with the medals. In the U9 Floor Routine, Katie Byrne took the gold and Sarah Morrissey took the silver. In the U11 Floor Routine, Aoibhinn Morrissey took the Gold medal. Katie and Aoibhinn will now go on to Athlone in August to represent Limerick in the National Community Games Finals. Well done to all girls and best of luck in Athlone in August. A big thank you to their coaches in Aerial Gymnastics club in Listowel.

Athea Gun Club

Athea Gun Club will hold their Church gate collection on Saturday night/Sunday morning 12th/13th April. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Over two weeks ago we released over 200 pheasants in the parish. Come June we will release 70 duck into the river.

The Gun Club also celebrates 55 years in existence this year, one of the longest serving clubs in the parish.

We will be feeding birds through the next few months.

Thanks again for your support down through the years.
