Wedding

Congratulations to Emma Mullane, daughter of Kathleen and Paddy Mullane, Templeathea and Dave Mulvihill, son of Ann and Noel Mulvihill, Barragougeen, Moyvane who were married in St. Bartholomew’s Church, Athea on Friday 3 January. Fr. Patrick Bowen PP celebrated the Nuptial Mass. The bridesmaids were Katie Lynch, sister of the bride and Deirdre O’Riordan, twin sister of the groom. Best man was Gerry Walsh and groomsman was Francis O’Riordan. The reception was held at The Malton Hotel, Killarney. The couple will honeymoon in Mauritius and Dubai. Emma is a member of the Garda Síochána.

Happy birthday to David Brosnan, Upper Athea son of Eileen and Micheál Brosnan who celebrated his 30th birthday recently.

Jackpot Winner

Congratulations to my former neighbor, Patrick Dalton, Gortnagross on winning the Jackpot of €6,400 in last week’s Community Council draw. Also to his wife Mary and children Marina and Joseph. The ticket was sold by Brouder’s Shop.

Employment Skills Training

Participants are now being sought for a new employment ability skill programme which will start in January and run two mornings per week (Monday and Friday) from 9.30am – 1pm. The course will cover modules including functional maths, team-work, work experience and a language (TBC). The course is a FETAC Level 4 programme delivered by the Limerick Education and Training Board. Limited places available.
