Athea Tidy Towns

The Tidy Towns results were out yesterday.  Athea gained a massive 28 points in the competition, which is pretty much unheard of in the competition (the most a town / village has increased in points was 15 points). It was the second largest increase in points in the country yesterday. This has won us an endeavour award, as we also had the largest increase in points in the County of Limerick. We will be presented with a certificate and a cheque for €500 at the Regional Awards Ceremony in  October/ November.  Yesterday was indeed a very proud day for the parish!

Athea Drama Group A.G.M.

The Drama Group AGM takes place on Monday, September 16th at 8pm in the Hall. New members especially welcome.

Athea Community Council A.G.M.

Athea Community Council AGM will take place on Monday, September 23rd at the Top of the Town at 8pm. Nominations are being sought for Board Members. These will be available in the Post Office, Credit Union or this office. Nominations must be with the secretary Domhnall de Barra before Friday, September 20th.

Coffee Morning

The annual Coffee Morning in aid of Milford Hospice will take place in the Colbert Memorial Hall on Thursday Sep. 19th.
