Matches:

Friday August 16:

Minors:

FealeRangers 0–9 Ballysteen/St. Senans 0–8

Feale Rangers played their third championship match against Ballysteen/St.Senans on Friday evening last in Páirc na nGael. A well organised opposition took control from the throw in and dominated the first twenty minutes of the half, racking up a five point to no score lead. Our first score was a super point scored by Gary Vaughan who was playing at mid-field. Ballysteen/St. Senans restored their five point lead but Dylan Griffin reduced it again when he rose the white flag. Stephen Cahill’s well struck penalty was brilliantly saved after James Ryan was fouled inside the box. We kept up the pressure until half time and were rewarded when James Ryan and Padraic Walsh added a point each to leave the half time score Feale Rangers 0-4, Ballysteen/St. Senans 0-6. Feale Rangers were a much improved team after the break, our defence were much tighter and conceded two points for the entire thirty minutes. Stephen Cahill was to the fore scoring all of Feale Rangers five points in this half. Also very impressive were Gary Vaughan, Jamie Lenihan, Dylan Griffin and Conor Moroney. The final score read Feale Rangers 0-9, Balllysteen/St. Senans 0-8, and when you consider their poor start the Athea/Mountcollins combination proved that they will be a very hard team to beat in this years championship.

Team: Kieran Harnett, Dan Mullane, Jonathan Fitzgerald, Jason O’Flaherty, Dylan Griffin, Jamie Lenihan, William Mullane, Stephen Cahill, Gary Vaughan, Keith Murphy, Conor Moroney, Padraic Walsh, William Sexton, Padraig Collins, James Ryan, Brian O’Connor, Jason Dalton, Jamie O’Brien & Roger Carmody.
