it was decided to re-stage the group’s first production of ‘Many Young Men of Twenty’ with a few original cast members making a welcome return to the stage.  Steeped in classic John B. Keane humour the play is considered by many to be one of John B Keane’s finest, and whilst it deals with a dark topic that has particular resonance in today’s climate, the play is also raucously funny. Set in 1960’s rural Ireland, Many Young Men of Twenty is a hilarious and sometimes heart-wrenching look at emigration and hardship.  Donal Woulfe is not to be missed as the character Danger Mullally, supported by Annette O’Donnell as Peg. Director Theresa O’ Halloran plays Kitty Curley the fortune teller with Carol O’ Connor as the glamorous Londoner singing “My Boy Lollipop”.  Also not to be missed are Lal Browne as Aloysius and newcomer Jack Denihan plays Johnny who has the advantage of being son of the local TD. Daheen Timineen (Oliver McGrath) as a mountain farmer and Hannah Mai Collins as a sensible Irish mother, are but a few of the cast combined with live music throughout the play. Please go along and support this fine
