U-19s HEAD TO CLOUNREASK

This coming Saturday our U-19s will travel to league headquarters in  Clounreask where they will face Rathkeale in the Desmond League U-19 Shield Final. This is the first season that there is a competition for U-19 players and this was brought it as a result of the FAI age re-alignment policy. Twelve teams entered the league and in our eleven games we won six, drew two and lost three and that saw us finish in fourth place and a place in the shield final. Rathkeale are our opponents and this will be our sixth meeting with them this season as we have played them four times in youths as well. Our team will consist of our youths team plus Mark Horgan and hopefully come Saturday evening we will be celebrating another trophy in Athea.
Kick off is at 2.30pm in Clounreask and no doubt there will be big Athea Utd support cheering on the U19s on Saturday.
