U/12s on Thursdays 6 to 7pm

U/14s on Monday 6 to 7pm.

U/16s on Thursdays 7pm to 8.30pm.

Youths on Mondays and Wednesdays 7 to 8.30pm.

Junior As & Bs on Tuesdays and Fridays 7 to 10pm.

 

ATHEA UTD MEMBERSHIP 2011-12

U/8s, U/10s & U/12s €20 per player.

U/14s €25 per player.

U/16s €30 per player.

Youths €35 per player.

Junior As and Bs €50 per player.

For example a family with an U/8 player and an U/10 player the membership will be €30 while a family with an U/12 player and an U/16 the membership will be €40.

 

UNDERAGE FAMILY DISCOUNT – There will again be a family discount for families of underage players and for each additional child this will be €10 extra.

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE – In line with club policy no player(s) will be allowed play for Athea Utd in the schoolboy league or junior league until they have their insurance paid. All managers are to collect the respective insurance and to implement this club policy.

 

CONGRATS

The club congratulates Jason and Fiona Hunt on the recent birth of their son Aaron, a little brother for Dylan and Courtney. All the health and happiness for the future.

 

SYMPATHY

The club extends its deepest sympathy to the Ryan family, Lower Road, Athea on the recent death of Roger’s mother Margaret in Carlow. May The Light Of Heaven Be Eternally Hers.

Under 12’s:

Athea – 2-7 Dromcollogher/Broadford 1-7.

Athea U-12’s played their last game of the league in Páirc na nGael on Thursday evening last when they played against a very strong  Dromcollogher/Broadford side and they capped of a great year when they emerged winners at the final whistle. Athea took the game to the visitors from the off and after we scored an early goal we kept our nose’s in front till the finish. It was a very exciting game of football and even though the opposition put us under pressure in the second half, all the players stepped up to the mark and we emerged winners on a score line of Athea 2-7 Dromcollogher/Broadford 1-7.

Under 10’s:

Athea under 10’s took part in the Old mill tournament last weekend, we played St. Kieran’s on Friday evening and despite the best efforts of all the boys and girls the opposition won out on the night. On Sunday evening we played Feohanagh/Castlemahon in the shield final and after a very exciting and entertaining game with all the players playing out of their skins for Athea we just lost out at the end. We would like to thank the Old Mill for inviting us to the tournament and for the treats they gave to the children after the game.

Fun Day Fundraiser:
After last weeks postponement of the Fun day in aid of the Con Colbert Community Hall it will now take place in Páirc na nGael this Sunday 2nd of October from 2pm to 5pm. There will be many events taking place on the day that will suit all ages including Sponge throwing, Target shooting, Poc Fada, Novelty Races for Children, Dart Throwing, Pegs on the Clothes Line, Penalty Shootout, Crossbar Challenge & Tug of War. There will be a BBQ, Pony Rides, Bouncing Castle & Face Painting along with the many prizes that can be won on the day. There will also be tea and light refreshments available. Tell all your family and friends that Páirc na nGael is the place to be next Sunday 2nd of October and that everyone is welcome and your support would be greatly appreciated in making this day a huge success.

 

Deepest Sympathy
The Club would like to offer its deepest sympathy to Roger Ryan and the Ryan Family on the recent passing of his mother Margaret Ryan in Fenagh,  Co.Carlow. May she rest in peace.

County Intermediate Quarter Final (replay)
Athea 1 07 Hospital Herbertstown 3 10.
We exited the championship in disappointing fashion last Friday night, under lights in Rathkeale. After an even enough first half we led by a point thanks to a great goal by Darren Murphy and three points from play by Gerard Ahern. The sides were level halfway through the second half but then two goals by  Hospital turned the game in their favour. In the finish Hospital ran out comfortable and deserving winners. Best for Athea on the night were Paul Collins, Martin Chawke, Denis Greaney, Kevin O’Keeffe, Ger Ahern and Jamie Collins.
