- ITA’S SHELTERED HOUSING SEEK NOMINATIONS FOR THE AIB COMMUNITY FUND: The handiest way for you to nominate St. Ita’s Sheltered Housing is to write down their charity number 20036102 and click on AIB ie community fund and a pink box will appear with the words nominate now and the form to be filled appears when you click on it. Because there are so many charities in the Munster region we have been calculating that we need thousands of nominations to get ahead of the posse so please get everyone you know with a valid email address to send a nomination. The drop down menu offers four choices of social themes to chose from so I rang the bank and they said put down OTHER as we don’t fit under Sustainability, Education and Opportunities or Digital , Innovation and Financial Inclusion. Please also take note that the closing date is June 25 so the pressure is on. Below is the piece written by AIB explaining their community fund.
“ AIB Bank €1 million community fund enables customers, the public and employees to nominate the local charities that matter most to them within their region. The Fund supports charities across six regions in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain. AIB will allocate €700,000 to charities chosen by the community with a further €300,000 donated to charities chosen by employees. The closing date for nominations is June 25. Eligibility criteria to nominate are that each nominator must have a legitimate email address, be an individual not a company and must include the charity number of their chosen charity. Each nominator must agree to AIB’S Terms and Conditions Policy.” St. Ita’s Sheltered Housing and Day Care Centre are hoping to benefit from the AIB community fund this year and are asking for everyone with an email address in our community to support us by clicking on the following link which will allow you to access the online voting form: https://aib.ie/personal-forms/community-fund. BUS TO KNOCK FOR THE RENEWAL OF THE CONSECRATION OF IRELAND: Two busloads of pilgrims travelled from Killarney and Abbeyfeale on Sunday last and spent a lovely day in Knock. Weather breezy, threatened rain a couple of times but only spitting. A sign of the times that are in it was that there was a constant lengthy queue outside the Confession chapel because of the shortage of priests – an average of a wait of an hour and a half. The renewal of the dedication of Ireland to the Sacred Heart took place during Mass in the packed Basilica and Archbishop Martin’s homily started with a piece from the pastoral letter of the Irish Bishops written in 1873 “There are many weighty evils, my dear people, pressing on the Church of God throughout the world and there are many dangers encompassing threatening ourselves near home. The spirit of irreligion and infidelity is growing strong every day ”. (abridged). Those poor Bishops must be doing somersaults in their graves now if that’s what they thought then. The ceremonies ended with a rosary procession through the grounds and down the street.

KILCORNAN Teenagers: DUBLIN (OSV News) — In rural Limerick, three teenage brothers are turning Lego into a tool for evangelization as Blessed Carlo Acutis continues to inspire a new generation of digital evangelists. In the small rural parish of Kilcornan in Irish Limerick
County, the boys have produced a professional and instructive stop-motion animation film about the millennial saint. “We wanted to reach people of our own age,” 16-year-old Louis Flynn explained to OSVNews. “Carlo really inspired all three of us. He was a normal teenager who loved football and video games, but he also had a profound love for the Eucharist. He lived in the same kind of world as we do —surrounded by technology. Everybody uses it, but not everyone is using it in the way that God wants us to use it. Carlo used it to glorify
God. That really resonated.”
