FREE INSURANCE FOR TIDY TOWNS GROUPS

The Minister of State for Financial Services, Credit Unions and Insurance, Neale Richmond has announced the Community Insurance initiative for Tidy Towns.  This scheme offers insurance coverage to Tidy Town groups at no cost, ensuring that the vital work can continue and bringing benefits to the community.  To avail of the Tidy Towns Insurance Scheme the group must be registered with Public Participation Network (PPN).IPB informed that the scheme does not cover the activities of Residents Associations, Community Councils or Development Associations. However, if Tidy Town groups have amalgamated with other groups and are insured together, the Tidy Towns groups can split out their insurances and come into

the IPB scheme. The other group would have to maintain their own insurance, so each group is adequately protected.
