There was a great buzz in the parish at the weekend when The Abha Bhán Players staged THE FIELD by JOHN B KEANE in the Parish Hall, Ballyhahill. The reviews, after the first two fullhouse shows, have been extremely positive with everybody praising the directing, the set, sound and lighting and the acting. This Tuesday &Wednesday April 29/ 30 is your last chance to see it so ring or text 086 8458821 to reserve your place. Doors open @ 7.30 pm. Performance @ 8pm. Pay at the door. Cash Only. Admission €15 inc Tea/Coffee. Raffle on the night. All welcome.
I wrote a little tribute to Director Eleanor and Stage Manager Edel who do an immense amount of work to get the show together.
Thank You
We’re lucky in this part of West Limerick
To have people of talent and brains
’Tis oozing out of all corners
And flows through our rivers and drains.
Now forgive me for naming two people
But there are two that I’d love to honour
For their energy and creative talent
Yes, you guessed it – our Edel and Eleanor.
They are the engine of the Abha Bhán Players
For without them no play would be staged
Their enthusiasm and positive attitude
Is the fuel that ignites all the players.
If their energy could be safely harnessed
We would always have access to power
There would be no need for generators
They would keep us going by the hour.
So thank you to these active ladies
Who, I’m sure must sleep in the Hall
For every day there are changes
I’m not sure if they sleep at all.
Oh I know they have many helpers
And for them we are grateful too
All together they create a great energy
Do we love them? Of course we all do!
