market does not always reward, the document said.

DAIRY: “Lots of research is now suggesting that the saturated fat
found in dairy (and cheese) may have a neutral or beneficial effect on
heart health,” says Dr Emma Feeney, an assistant professor at the
University College Dublin Institute of Food and Health. For example, a
2023 Advances in Nutrition study analysis found no link between cheese
consumption and heart disease, rather, a neutral or slightly
protective effect. Scientists still don’t fully understand why the
kinds of fat in cheese may be beneficial.

FIRE at Palisades; Corpus Christi School, which opened in 1951, was
initially staffed by the Sisters of St. Louis. Sister of St. Louis
Michele Harnett, who taught at Corpus Christi, was shocked at the
devastation. “I watched in horror as the church and whole
neighbourhoods were wiped out by the ferocious Palisades fire,” she
told the Register. “These were families that our sisters knew and
loved, parishioners who supported us for over 60 years and who found a
special place in our hearts.”

THOUGHT: Whenever a person thinks, questions and reflects on his or
her true identity, strives to understand the deeper question of life
and to seek God, or experiences the thrill of catching a glimpse of
truth, it lead to the realization that our fulfilment as human beings
is found in love. In loving, we sense that we come to know the purpose
and goal of our existence I this world, Everything comes together in a
state of coherence and harmony. It follows that, in contemplating the
meaning of our lives, perhaps the most decisive question we can ask
is, ‘Do I have a heart?’ Pope Francis.

ASN: Acquired situational narcissism is a form of narcissism that
develops in late adolescence or adulthood, brought on by wealth, fame
and the other trappings of celebrity. It was coined by Robert B.
Millman, professor of psychiatry at the Weill Cornell Medical College
of Cornell University.

ASN differs from conventional narcissism in that it develops after
childhood and is triggered and supported by the celebrity-obsessed
society: fans, assistants and tabloid media all play into the idea
that the person really is vastly more important than other people,
triggering a narcissistic problem that might have been only a
tendency, or latent, and helping it to become a full-blown personality
disorder. “Millman says that what happens to celebrities is that they
get so used to people looking at them that they stop looking back at
other people.”[1]
In its presentation and symptoms, it is indistinguishable from
narcissistic personality disorder, differing only in its late onset
and its support by large numbers of others. “The lack of social norms,
controls, and of people telling them how life really is, also makes
these people believe they’re invulnerable,”[2] so that the person with
ASN may suffer from unstable relationships, substance abuse and
erratic behaviour.

ENVY: We based our definition of envy on Aristotle’s: pain at the good
fortune of others.  We also experience envy when we feel joy at the
bad fortune of others. The Germans call that schadenfreude.

We experience envy when we compare ourselves to others, particularly
people who are similar to us. You probably don’t feel envy towards
Jeff Bezos for his wealth, but you likely turn green with it when you
hear that your co-worker got a big raise. There’s another feeling that
often accompanies envy, and it’s one that philosophers have found
particularly worthy of examination. Like envy itself, it not only
makes us feel bad, but also is a vice which can canker our character.

FLU and cold cases are at all-time highs this year. I got the flu two
years ago. Never felt sicker in my life. It was awful.

Kate got it too, and felt nigh near to death’s door at times, but she
seemed to recover faster than I did and wasn’t moaning and groaning as
much as I was. She was in bed for a couple days and then was back to
work. Meanwhile, I was holed up in our bonus room upstairs for a week,
alternating between Tylenol and Advil to manage the fever and body
aches.
