CHANGE YOUR CLOCKS
This weekend sees the change from Winter to Summer time, so don’t forget to put your clocks forward by 1 hour on Saturday night giving everyone an hour less sleep of course but sure it works both ways ,and when the clocks change back again for the Winter we can make up that lost Hour. Well with the beautiful weather we have had over the past few weeks, it seemed as if we were getting an early Summer. The farmers made full use of the lovely dry conditions with tractors going full belt spreading slurry etc which is great and gives them a head start. We will have slightly darker mornings for a short time with the time change, however the evenings will be so much brighter for the extra hour which will be an added bonus. How the time has flown by since Xmas, I suppose we are always wishing our lives away as the Seasons bring their various changes. Presumably there will be a change in the next while too from Sunday morning Mass to Saturday evening Mass and I suppose there is a reason for that change too as people in the longer warmer days hopefully will have Sundays to go off for the day to the beach, weather being good — we live in hope for a nice Summer.
Well before I started emailing my few lines this Sunday evening to Domhnall I watched the new series of Raised By The Village. This week it featured a boy who had Dislexia and a girl who was obsessed with make up and false eyelashes ,both glued to their phones and hating school living in the Inner Cities. They had to give up their phones on arrival at the host families homes and with early morning starts and both working on family farms their eyes were opened to put it mildly, having to muck out from the animals, pick buckets of blueberries and many more different tasks which up to this were completely alien to them and which at first they weren’t too happy or prepared to do. However, by the end of their week they were like 2 different teenagers, helping out, visiting the elderly, changing oil on tractors, fishing and even playing hurling .In all a great change with no aggro or giving out like they were previously having with their parents.
I thought isn’t it wonderful too to be living in the country, so much to do and as late as this morning it was so great to see the GAA pitch packed to capacity with the start of the hurling training back again , great to have our young people involved in sport and I saw lately that the only way is up for the GAA in London with a huge percentage of young people now involved in the sport ,and Gaelic Football being on the PE Curriculum so isn’t it great.
Thought FOR THE WEEK
Wherever you go ,go with all your Heart.
