MOORE’S BAR: The sole pub in Carrigkerry recently changed ownership after over a century of service to the local community and passing customers. Hannie Moore’s (Sandpit) was a famous venue down the years when Carrigkerry had three pubs, (Stacks, Windles) all doing brisk business. Her daughter Joan Culhane took over the running and further enhanced its popularity with her welcoming smile and charming personality. Following her untimely passing her son Seamus took over and continued to serve the people. A number of different tenants also continued the welcoming service and played their part over the years.
