Coláiste Íde agus Iosef senior hurling panel played John the Baptist community school (Hospital) in the Limerick senior schools hurling championship on Wednesday 22/01 but lost 13 points to 9. The Athea players who played were Timmy O’Keeffe, Jack Sexton, Jamie Collins, James Hunt, Jamie O’Mahony and Louis O’Sullivan.

Split The Bucket

The last draw was held on Monday  January 27th  at the club house.

The previous winners,   represented by Oran Hayes was on hand to draw out the winning envelope. The Lucky winner of €193 was Mary and Eileen,  Bingo.

The next  Split the bucket draw is on Monday February 10th at 8pm.

Envelopes are available at all the usual outlets,  Collins Shop, O Riordans pharmacy,  The Credit union, Friday Bingo, Lees  Chinese Takeaway,  The Gables Grill, Dick Whites, Batts  and Brown Joe’s.

National Football league. 

Limerick began their campaign in div 4 with an away game to Longford.  They drew 1-15 to  2-12. This game played under the new football rules, was entertaining and high scoring despite  the bad weather.  Limerick  kicked a lot of wides and were probably the better team but Longford equalised with a last minute 2 point score.

County championship. 

Junior Premier Football

Athea are in the same group with, Mungret, Mountcollins, Fr Caseys, Monagea and Ballybrown

We are entering  a B team this year and they are taking part in the county Junior C championship. Their group contains, Glin, South Liberties and Camogue Rovers.

Both teams  will also be playing  in the county league.

Our 2025 membership registration is now live.   Please see link to register with the club  and purchase our club draw tickets for 2025, all players need to register ahead of the season and we would encourage everyone to become a member and purchase a ticket for our club and county draws as it all helps towards the running and up keep of the club and walking track.
