Saibh Prendeville and Ayda Daly at the Kingdom Pony Club Awards

Knockdown was packed on Sunday night with the arrival of THE ESTUARY ROLLERS on their annual run for charity. This year the monies collected got towards Milford Care Centre Limerick,

Nano Nagle School Listowel and St Gabriels Foundation Limerick. Proceeds from Santa’s Grotto at the start of the race was in aid of those families in Listowel who were affected by the recent floods. Each year the number of tractors taking part get bigger and the decorations and lights on each tractor is a work of art and patience and effort. Well done to all. People can still donate through the Estuary Rollers gofundme page or directly to any of the members.

Congratulations to Saibh Prendeville and her cousin Ayda Daly who brought home a “gabháil” of trophies from the Kingdom Pony Club Awards day last Saturday in recognition of their participation and achievements throughout the year. They love their ponies as do Áine, Ríain, Cleo and Robyn also.

There was a lovely article in the Christmas Observer last week about our own Domhnall De Barra who has led a very interesting life with his musical talent. I did not know that Domhnall spent a year teaching before he changed careers.

Ballyhahill school are selling lines for a huge raffle to be held next week. The prizes are very attractive. €2 per line if you see them. I know that at this time of year we are bamboozled with raffles and competitions so it is hard to keep up with them all.

It was tough luck on the Fair Day in Glin this year with storm Darragh upsetting everything. But that’s how the cookie crumbles. Better luck next year DV.
