“BATTERY storage on its own — or what people call short-duration energy storage — is very important,” said Martin Staadecker, an energy systems researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and lead author of the new study. “But you can’t just rely on lithium-ion batteries, because it would be very expensive to have enough to actually provide power for an entire week.”
As of 2022, the U.S. had 43 pumped storage hydropower facilities

KERRY IN 2,727 A.D.
The old Gaelic seer compared our lives to a bird flying at night through the King’s Hall in one door, for a moment in the light, and out the other door, into eternity.
The Idea of Progress. Although the idea of progress has been questioned by learned men, one cannot
be far wrong to assume that since man appeared on this planet there has been a continuous rise towards a better world. There may be periods of retrogression — here a setback and there a degeneration — but, on the whole, man has been on an ascending grade. At least in science, that is, in the knowledge of the universe, there has been a great and steady advance. And we may fairly assume that this advance shall continue in the future. In spite of present appearances to the contrary, we can also assume that man will advance in virtue.
Of course, mortals are bound up in the question of the preservation of religion. The two main questions then to consider, when we let our imagination loose into the future, are: (1) Will the religion revealed to us by Christ survive? and (2) Shall what we now call the “social problem” be
solved? I am firmly convinced that the time will come when the whole world shall be under the benign rule of Christ The King: and to believe that is also to believe that, under His guidance, the present “class war” throughout society shall be swallowed up in a perfect social peace.
Christ The King ruling in all lands, through His Vicar, the Pope; and the perfect harmony of social justice in being throughout human society — these two great events one can confidently predict
to take place during the next thousand years; for Christ is sure to conquer; and where He rules justice prevails.

FERN: Fifty million years ago, Azolla filiculoides played a pivotal role in cooling the planet. Back then, the Arctic Ocean was a vast freshwater lake separated from other oceans by land bridges. Fueled by abundant nitrogen and carbon dioxide, Azolla filiculoides spread across large parts of the Arctic Ocean and crept onto surrounding continents. Over an 800,000-year period known as the “Azolla event,” the species caused temperatures to plummet by pulling an estimated 10 trillion tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. That’s more than 250 times the amount of last year’s global energy-related CO2 emissions.

Beyond these very large capacity solar projects, there are also a multitude of other smaller solar farms operating around Ireland, or else being built as we speak.

SINGING: In this case we need to open our eyes and then also our lips. The human body is made for singing as surely as is the body of what we call ‘song birds.’ My wife loves to remind that God has given each of us his very own instrument that we always have with us. What a joy and a gift to be able to use our instruments, together or at times alone, as a way of giving voice to the love in our hearts.
Singing gives occasion to ‘channel our love’ as it were, feel it more deeply or perhaps in a new way, and then give it a context to ‘come out.’ And to be heard, recognized, and felt by others. In a new way, or even for the first time.

SPORTS gambling has exploded in America. You can’t watch a game today without being bombarded by ads from betting companies, often co-branded with the major sports leagues themselves. It’s a dramatic shift from just seven years ago, when these same leagues were unified in their opposition to legalized sports betting.
