A craft fair will be held in Ballyhahill Hall on this Sunday 24th November from 11am to 3pm. This is always a lovely day out with lots of arts and crafts for display providing a chance to do some Christmas shopping also. A lovely day for meeting people also. The Parents Association of Ballyhahill School will be serving mulled wine, mince pies, hot chocolate, and treat bags, and will be doing with face painting for the kids. No doubt the Hall committee will be serving teas. I hear that there are lots of tables booked so there should be something for everyone.

I had hoped that we would have our shop in Knockdown open by now but sadly not yet. But it will be very soon. It will be great to have the shop back again. It is more than a shop – it is a place for the neighbours to meet also. Well done to Ta for having the energy and enthusiasm to build it up again. Long may he live!

I came across an interesting bit of information during the week. Do ye remember Fr. Tynan who used to come to the schools long ago to examine the Catechism? I got my hands on a report of Clounleharde school in the early 1950’s where he said it was one of the best schools he visited and he had great praise for the way the Catechism was taught. There were almost 90 pupils in the school then! I remember Master Barry always had time for Religion class and never ignored it. We had to have all the answers off in our heads that time. And we did … or else!

After our lovely autumn weather we are in for a cold spell so we had better wrap up well for the next week.
