PRAYERS IN THE GRAVEYARD: Prayers in the Graveyard Prayers for all who are buried in our parish graveyards will take place next Sunday 3rd of November beginning at St Mary’s graveyard at 2.00pm, the Old Graveyard at 2.20pm and Reilig Íde Naofa at 3.00pm
ANNUAL MASS: The Annual Mass for all those who died since this time last year will be celebrated on Friday 15th of November at 7.00pm. During Mass a candle will be lit for each person who has died during the past twelve months and a member of their family will be invited to bring the candle to the altar. For those whose relatives died outside of the parish and you wish to remember them on that evening please call into the church and give their name to be added to the list.
COMMUNITY ALERT CHRISTMAS LUNCH: The annual lunch takes place on Sunday, November 24 from 1 -6pm. Lunch served 1.15pm, Talk by Community Garda Tommy Commane and Fire Officer Jerry Lyons. Music by PaddyQulligan. Tickets €25 from committee members and the Siopa Milsean.

ALL SAINTS DAY: 1 November – All Saints Day All Saints’ Day, also known as the Feast or Solemnity of All Saints, is celebrated every year on 1 November. On this day, which is a Holy Day of Obligation, we honour all of the Saints and ask them to pray for us. Mass on All Saints Day – Vigil Mass on Thurs 31st at 7.00pm. Mass on All Saints Day Fri 1st of November at 10.00am 2 November – All Souls’ Day All Souls’ Day or more formally ‘the Commemoration of the Faithful Departed’ is a solemn celebration commemorating all of those who have died and is observed on Saturday 2 November. Mass on All Souls Day at 11.00am and 6.30pm. An indulgence, applicable only to the Souls in Purgatory, is granted to the faithful, who visit a cemetery and pray, even if only mentally, for the departed. The indulgence is plenary each day from November 1-8; The plenary indulgence is earned under the usual conditions: Going to Confession, receiving Holy Communion and praying for the Pope’s intentions (usually one Our Father and the Creed or Hail Mary). GLÓRACH: Two gigs lined up for November, legendary Cork singer John Spillane makes a welcome return to the theatre on Friday, November 8th while the supremely talented trad group Four Winds will be making their debut at the Glórach on Friday, November 22nd. MASS: University Hospital Kerry – Annual November Mass for all those who have died within the Hospital over the past year – Monday 4 November at 7pm in St Johns Church, Castle Street, Tralee. This Mass will be live streamed for those unable to attend in person on www.stjohns.ie
ADORATION IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT CHAPEL: Eucharistic Adoration takes place in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel every Friday after 10am morning Mass until 7pm.
ABBEYFEALE FOR AFRICA: The annual cake sale with proceeds to the late Fr. Tim Galvin’s Mission will take place on Saturday, November 30 at St. Ita’s Day Care Centre from 10- 1pm. Teas and Coffee will be served. Your donations of home baking and jams will be so welcome. We are hoping that Fran Leahy, New Street who has been working with Fr. Blessing (Fr. Tim’s successor) will be home and in attendance to give a short talk about the wonderful work that continues in South Sudan and which is enabled in part by the donations from Abbeyfeale, North Kerry and West Limerick.

MEMORIAL: A tractor/truck run will take place on November 10 to mark the 1st Anniversary of the death of John Brennan of Kilflynn. ABBEYFEALE COMMUNITY ALERT:
Before the winter sets in check that you have a working smoke alarm and a carbon alarm . The annual Christmas party takes place in Fr. Casey’s on Sunday, November 24th. Tickets €25 each are on sale from the usual outlets. Once you reach the age of 65 and live alone or with a person/s aged over 65 you are entitled to receive a monitored alarm system. But if you have younger people living in the house who are out for long periods of the day then because you are spending hours alone you are also entitled to the system provided that you are over 65. The free equipment is provided by Pobal following an application from Abbeyfeale Community Alert, there will be a monitoring fee to be paid from the second year of installation to the installing company of €72. Please note that this fee has increased by €6 and is payable in a lump sum each year after year one. Should you not have a landline the installing company Task provide a sim card at a rate of €7.50 per month payable from day one.
