Ned is survived by his wife Etty, daughter Margaret, grandchildren Shauna and Teddy, son in law Darragh, brother Billy (U.K.) sisters Peggy (Cork), Philomena, Catherine, Mary, Christina and Helen (U.K.) nieces, nephews, sisters in law, and brothers in law. Funeral cortege arrived at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Athea, on Tuesday for 12.00 noon requiem mass. Interred afterwards in Holycross cemetery, Athea.

MARATHON: The 2024 Cook Medical Mini Marathon will return to the University of Limerick on Sunday 6th October. In 2022 we saw the name changed from “Women’s Mini Marathon” to “Mini Marathon” in an effort to welcome everyone to come together to take part. Rev. Michael F. Kennelly, S. J., son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Kennelly of Kilbaha, Newtownsandes, County Kerry, Ireland, was greeted by scores of friends and relatives at a surprise bon voyage party arranged in his honour at Corless Hall, the Bronx recently.
Father Kennelly, Who came to New York when a youth, was educated at St. Angeli Merici School, the Bronx; Regis High School, Manhattan; St. Charles College, La., and St. Mary’s in Kansas. He will remain in Ireland until September 1948, studying at the Jesuit House of Studies in Dublin.

Organized in 1946 among the Holy Name men of the New York Metropolitan area, the Holy Name glee club consisting of 50 voices will make their public debut during the ceremonies. For the past year they have been singing at private gatherings in preparation for this first appearance.
The group is under the supervision of Philip I. Carney who also directs the BBDO Advertising glee club and the Center Club singers, both of New York City. President of the club is William G. McNamara.

A KERRY-born Chicago policeman is organising a concert tour of Ireland next year by a group of
young American boys and girls. But there will be no rock and roll—the programme will consist exclusively of traditional Irish music and song.
The 47-year-old six-foot policeman, who was born in Kilbaha, outside Listowel, is holidaying in
Ireland at present with his three sons and is laying the groundwork for the tour.
The undertaking is sponsored by the 5,000 m e m b e r Irish Musicians Association of America,
