SLEEP: Brett & Kate McKay • August 21, 2024
You probably know your body follows a circadian rhythm, and probably think of it as primarily regulating your sleep/wake cycle, which it certainly does. But your body’s internal clock also regulates many other physical, mental, and behavioral changes that occur every 24 hours, and working with your circadian rhythm, rather than against it, can boost your health and happiness.

DEVOUT: Eileen O’Connor was born in Melbourne in 1892, the eldest of four children, to devout Irish Catholic parents.
Due to a curvature of the spine, O’Connor was three foot nine, and could not stand or walk for much of her life.
She suffered from tuberculosis of the spine, stunted growth, periods of blindness, long periods of paralysis, and extreme nerve pain, and had a condition that is now known as transverse myelitis, which involves inflammation of the spine.
When her father died, the family experienced financial challenges. Father Edward McGrath, a parish priest and member of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, found accommodations for the family.

LONELINESS a bigger killer than obesity, say researchers —————————–
The data from the first meta-analysis revealed that the risk of premature death was 50 percent lower for adults who had a greater connection with others, compared with those who were socially isolated.
From the second meta-analysis, the researchers found that loneliness, social isolation, and living alone were all associated with an increased risk of early death.
