After a fabulous day’s golfing on on Saturday last at the picturesque Dromoland Championship Course, which was in wonderful condition , the results are:
1st Team of Aidan Keogh, Donal Pierse and Ryan O’Connell
2nd: Team of Stephen Reidy, Pat Power and Don O’Shea
3rd. Team of Philip Woullfe, James Scanlon and Richard Vaughan
Joe Kelly won both the longest drive and nearest the pin.
Congratulations to all.
Next outing will be to Dundrum on August 10th.

Cúl Camp 2024
Message from Cúl Camp Co-Ordinator Jacqueline O’Connor – Hi All, what a way to finish the week. The weather was so good to us. I hope your child enjoyed the week, with 103 children taking part in total. All the friends meeting up, it was like they hadn’t seen each other in years. It was also great to see new friendships made. The main thing is that they had fun and learned new football skills and improved on what they have learnt already with the Club. Thank you to the Club for treating everyone to an ice cream, it went down a treat. A massive thank you to all the mammies & daddies who helped out in any way this week. I wouldn’t have been able to manage without your help.Thank you to all the children for being so attentive when we needed it. It makes things easier.Thank you parents for having them there on time and for being cooperative with the dropping and picking up times. It helped things run more smoothly. I really enjoyed my week, meeting the new boys & girls. I have been our club’s Cúl Coordinator for the past 14 years and each year the camp goes from strength to strength. I am looking forward to next year’s camp already.

U13 Ladies PDP
Well done to Jessie Collins, Lily Carmody, Shauna Collins and Loren Healy who are participating in the u13 PDP . On Sunday they played Laois in a challenge in preparation for the Munster blitz in a few weeks time.

Huge well done to our U16’s for registering their second win of the championship against Adare on Monday evening. There were some great scores taken by both teams.
Their final group game is against Cappagh in a few weeks. Well done to the team and management.
All Ireland U16 Final
Supporters from Athea who travelled to the All=Ireland Final last Saturday
Hard luck to Maeve Murphy, Geraldine Carmody and Grace Hunt in the U16 all Ireland final last Saturday. It was a tight contest played at furious pace. Limerick led at the break by 2 points with 1.1 coming from the boot of Maeve Murphy. Antrim piled on the pressure in the second half but Geraldine Carmody pulling off some great saves in the second half kept them at bay. Grace Hunt played her captain’s role by covering every inch of ground in Kinnegad from start to finish. Antrim gained momentum in the last ten minutes and it finished 1.12 to 1.7.Well done to all our clubs travelling support on the day. The future is bright for Limerick Ladies football.
U17 Ladies PDP
Huge well done to Isabelle Barrett who played with Limerick U17 PDP in Abbotstown last Tuesday. It’s a huge opportunity for the girls to play the best in the county. Well done Isabelle .
U18 Men’s Football Championship
Round 2 – Shannon Gaels/Athea 2-09 St Kierans 1-11
This was a great game played by two evenly matched teams in Coolcappagh last Sunday night. We were lucky to win in the end with a brilliant last minute goal from man of the match Donach Daly. Both teams deserve great credit for serving up a pulsating end to end game with great skills on show throughout.
Team – Tomás Ahern, Luke Buckley, James Hunt, Sean Twomey, Rory Cleary, Calum Buckley, Jamie Collins, Tadhg Ahern, Sean McKenery, Charlie Mc Donagh, Jack Sexton, Fionn McNamara, Jack Adams, Evan Curry and Donach Daly, subs, Conor Fitzgerald, Fionn Histon and Fergal Leahy.
We play Askeaton Ballysteen Kilcornan this Wednesday night in Glin at 8pm in Round 3.
