DAN PADDY ANDY FESTIVAL: Advance booking is now available for two events in this year’s Dan Daddy Andy Festival in Lyreacrompane. The Seán Keane Concert in the Marquee on Friday, August 2 can now be booked on Eventbrite.ie Seán Keane is a legend and early booking is advised. Singer/songwriters Carl Lundrigan from Newfoundland and Leanne O Shea Hennessy from Tralee will entertain the crowd before Seán comes on stage. Not to be missed. - ITA’S HALL: After 10am Mass last Sunday we were given a walk around the newly refurbished St. Ita’s Hall which will shortly reopen for business.
Fr. Tony told us that Dearbhla from WLR, Maurice O’Connell our Community Council Chairman and the Foroige rep along with himself spent countless hours putting together an application for funding. Fundraising also too place in the parish to enable matching funding to be put in place. It’s a fine hall now and with the quality of the work that went into it should last for many decades.

ABBEYFEALE TOURIST OFFICE: It has reopened for June, July and August in the renamed Old Bank on Main Street. Open from 11-2pm Monday – Saturday. Over 20 volunteers are covering the hours from Monday to Saturday and they would be delighted if you called in to say hello.

AN AIRBOURNE SURVEY: The Tellus survey, is a national program working on behalf of Geological Survey Ireland (GSI) gathering geochemical and geophysical data across Ireland. The Tellus team will shortly commence an airborne survey to gather geophysical data across counties Kerry, north-west Cork, and neighbouring Limerick. Given the aircraft will fly at a low altitude of 60 metres over rural areas and may startle sensitive livestock, we are keen to inform and engage with as many organisations as possible to help raise awareness of the survey activity.
