A scene from “A Tomb With a View” in Ballyhahill last Saturday night

“Absolutely brilliant.” “Very enjoyable show and brilliant acting all round.” “Mighty performance.”  “It kept us wanting to know who did it. I couldn’t have guessed.” These were some of the comments from the audiences who enjoyed a TOMB WITH A VIEW last weekend in Ballyhahill. A great atmosphere pervaded the air as the two shows got everybody’s attention. There are two more stage performances this coming Friday and Saturday. Doors open 7.30pm. Performance at 8 pm sharp. It is best to book your tickets now on 069 82106/086 8458821 so as not to be disappointed. You can pay on the night at the door.

It’s great to see the foundations of Knockdown Shop taking shape. Hopefully we will have it by the summer.

There have been a few local deaths in the past week. I extend sympathies to Gertie O’Brien on the passing of her husband Den O’Brien, Tenekilla last week. Den was very well known in many social circles and will be missed by many. His daughter Edel was there to welcome him to the other side, I’m sure. Sympathies to Norma O’Sullivan, Lacca on the death of her husband Richard Courtney. My own cousin Michael White of Tralee was buried on Tuesday. I was sorry too to hear of the death of Patsy Dalton, Glasha on Monday. Sympathies to his sister Mary and her husband Kevin Power and son Kieran.

I did not see the eclipse on Monday night but I did notice that the wind stirred up for a few minutes and died down again at the predicted time. Nature is wondrous.
