Athea V Drom/Broadford 2003 County Senior Football Final Charity Replay
The rumours are true, the boys are back on the training field! All roads lead to Athea on April 13th for the Charity Replay in aid of Carol Liston O Connor and family. Add the date to your diary for an event  that promises to be a memorable occasion, with a few surprises thrown in. This is an open invitation for everyone to join us on the day, and anyone willing to help out in any way, please do contact us. Join us in putting our hands around our own, to help them through a difficult situation, what we do best in Athea. Let the planning commence !

West Junior Football League Round 2

Athea will play Mountcollins in Round 2 of the West Junior Football League at 8pm in Mountcollins on Tuesday March 12th.

Huge congratulations to Tarbert Comprehensive School and especially the Athea members of the panel Callum Buckey, Evan Curry & James Broderick who won the All Ireland Post Primary Football Final last weekend beating St Malachys of Castlewell. A fantastic achievement for all involved

2024 Membership
Membership is a vital part of ensuring our club’s continued success and development. Whether you are a player, coach, supporter, track user, parent of a player or member of the wider community, we welcome all new members.
The monies received are used towards: maintenance and development of facilities, playing equipment, affiliation fees, insurance, utility bills, team preparation and other administrative costs.
Please note – All players, coaches, mentors and committee members need to be registered before participating in training/matches for the upcoming year. Players must be covered by the Player Injury Sport fund, in the event of any injuries whilst representing the club. Guardians must ensure that all Youth players are registered.

Club Limerick Draw
Tickets are now on sale for the Annual Club Limerick Draw (formally Mackey Draw). Please be aware the following applies to the sale of Limerick Club Draw Tickets –
1. 50% of the proceeds of ticket sales goes to Athea GAA
2. The more Club Limerick Draw tickets we sell, the more Limerick County Football/Hurling Championship Final tickets the Club will have access to
3. The Draw supports the development of the Limerick County Teams.
There will be one draw a month for 10 months made up of one €10,000 monthly prize, 28 Additional Cash Prizes each Month plus an exclusive STAR Prize.

Split the Bucket
Congratulations to Karen Murphy & Claire O’ Donnell who were this week’s winner of Split the Bucket, going home with the grand total of €377.50 The next draw will take place on Monday March 25th. Envelopes can be purchased at Dick Whites, Collins Shop, O’ Riordan’s Pharmacy, Athea Credit Union, Brown Joes, Batts,Bingo at Con Colbert Hall on Friday nights, Chinese Takeaway, Gables Grill and during events at Pairc na nGael. Thanks to everyone for your continued support.
GMAO
GMAO are back training on Mondays in the GAA field from 7.30 – 8.30. Remember this is a non competitive group, where it doesn’t matter what your level of fitness is or whether you have played football or not before, we meet up for fun, laughter and making new friendships.
Training starting back
Our U16’s are back on the field training this week from 6.30-7.30. New players are always welcome. Best of luck in the coming season to the girls and management.
Clothes Collection
Our next clothes collection will be Monday 13th May. Start that spring clear early. Do not discard any clothing material in household waste. Drop them up to the field. Funds generated from this collection goes to buying new equipment for the season ahead.

CPR AED

Training for Teens 

The CPR Aed Training for Teens has been arranged for the following dates:
Thursday 28th March
Thursday 4th April
Thursday 11th April
Thursday 18th April
18.00 – 21.30 each night
Venue: Con Colbert Memorial Hall
12 places available for each night, aimed at teens aged 14 years upwards. Adults are also welcome so if anyone would like to attend please encourage them to include their names. A mix of teens and adults to attend each of the 4 nights please as requested by Instructors. It is very important that those who confirm their attendance turn up for the training on the night. If for any reason someone needs to cancel please ensure we are made aware of it so the place can be offered to someone else.If you are interested please contact Helen Brosnan on 087 6103840
