Joan was a great family woman for her five children and 15 grandchildren. She was renowned for her  delicious baking and apple tarts. They were blessed with five in family. The family returned to live in Ireland in the 1970s and entered the pub business in Main Street Ardagh. They settled in the school road afterwards. She was a very quiet person, quick witted, funny  had many sayings and known as Joanie Roger by the family.
