What a Game
“Nobody died but A dream did” these were the words echoed by many a newspaper and TV channel since Ireland lost to the All Blacks on Saturday evening last. I’m sure everyone was glued to the game, even those of us who didn’t fully understand the rules of the hard fought game. It was the end of the road for Johnny Sexton whose young son with tears in his eyes as he walked off the pitch with his Dad but, despite the loss said to his Dad, and I quote “You are still the best dad” and doesn’t that say so much. Hopefully one never knows in time to come they might get their dream.
The beautiful altar display to celebrate the Harvest Thanksgiving, put together by Teresa O Halloran and Hannah Mai Collin,s can’t be praised enough, so colourful with fruit, veg, russet trees, eggs and even turf etc. Well done to them and indeed anyone who may have given a helping hand with the lifting etc.
Sincere sympathy is extended to Anne-Marie Horgan on the death of her mother Anna Nash of Knocknasna Abbeyfeale. Many came to pay their respects to the Family at Harnett’s Funeral Parlour Abbeyfeale. Burial took place after Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Cemetry in Abbeyfeale. May the light of Heaven be hers.
Angela Leach (nee Cafferky) went to her Eternal Reward at the weekend in Milford Hospice having battled with cancer for the past while, she also got married to Michael before passing away. Angela was from Glasgow originally and lived in Cratloe. She was larger than life, bubbly, caring and faced her illness with immense bravery. Many offered sympathy to her husband Michael, young son Connor, her mother, sister and many relatives and good friends she had made over the years in Athea and beyond. She was laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery. May her gentle soul rest in Eternal Peace.
