Back To School
Can you believe it, as I can’t, that once again we are returning to school in the next few days. At the start of the Summer Holidays the return to school seemed a life away but the day has finally arrived and it wasn’t a great Summer at all. Hopefully a few days in September even for the Listowel Races would help. Another thing that I just cant believe when I read it in the paper the other Day and I’m sure many will agree with me that its absolutely ridiculous that Brown Thomas in Galway, Dublin ,Cork and Limerick have opened their Christmas shop. It was bad enough when Halloween stuff was being put on the shelves recently but the Xmas stuff is taking it to another extreme in my opinion. Its not fair on families who are struggling and kids looking at all the bits and pieces before them on the shelves so early.
This Friday sees the Leaving Cert results out for all the students who are anxiously awaiting them so we wish them all the very best as they prepare to go on another journey of their young lives and hopefully whatever avenue they take that they will be happy in what they are doing.
There are so many scams going around at the moment on our phones so just beware especially advise maybe elderly people who may not realise that texts can be scams. They are ranging from Revolute accounts that some people don’t even have to people pretending they’ve lost their phones and are using someone else’s and need money to buy a replacement. Then another is saying your parcel cant be delivered by a courier until a fee has been paid or again your toll hasn’t been paid even though you may haven’t even gone through a toll. So just beware.
With not much going on this week I’ll just finish with these few lines.
Try to forget your troubles and give out a great big smile,
You’ll find the world a warmer place if you can halt a while.
Share your Problems with a friend, a friend both warm and true,
You’ll find what hurt you on the mend and those grey skies turn to blue.
