OUT AND ABROAD

Usually I head my few notes Out And About—- slight change this week it’s “ABROAD “ instead of ABOUT as I thought many families are away now at present on Holidays ,or will be going in the not too distant future. I’m just back from a few days in New Jersey USA with our daughter Marielle and her family .The weather there was so warm every day even early morning walking with her rescue dog  and of course the humidity brings with it thunder and heavy showers like here. We were in a quiet country area with no traffic only deer roaming around ,and lots of squirrels and chipmunks which was lovely .

Then you have the other extreme of lanes of Traffic on the Highways all rushing everywhere especially for July 4th the big day there—INDEPENDENCE DAY when  many are heading off to the big Firework Displays or going to the Beach for the weekend. Hot Dogs and Burgers are the order of the day for everyone on that day.

Things have got very expensive there, like here and property taxes are massive depending on where you live. There are no taxes on clothes in New Jersey but just down the road in New York there is, every state has different Rules and Regulations. We might envy their heat but they say the cold in the Winter is unbelievable so maybe despite all the rain we are getting here these days after the few nice warm weather we had, we actually have a very good climate with no extremes. Just giving a bit of an insight into life in USA.I also went down to The Bronx to take a look and its like the Willesden and Kilburn of London with every second shop an Irish Butchers or Grocery shop or restaurant all the Irish going in for their Barrys T-Bags, Taytos, Kerrygold Butter, Irish Sausages and Black Puddings etc, we should appreciate all our lovely Irish food here.

Anyway enough going on about My Travels— Sincere congrats are extended to Jamie Kelly, son of Betty and Tim of Clash, who was married on Thursday last in Adare to Karen Matthews of Killorglin. A great day was enjoyed by Family Relatives and Friends at The Woodlands Hotel .Wishing them all the very best for the future.

Good wishes are also sent to Julia Marie Barrett-Finucane Lower Rd who celebrated her 40th birthday last weekend with family and friends at Brown Joe’s here in Athea, all having a great night.

Thought for the Week

Time to shut the Laptop down

Get a Life get out of Town,

Leave the Phone in its Doc

Head for freedom by a Loch.

Hear the Waters Lap the Shore

As they’ve always done before.

JUST Being OUT where ALL Around,

GODS CREATION CAN BE FOUND
