SUMMER HOLIDAYS

I’m sure all the students both secondary who have just finished their exams and the National school kids are all excited to be on their Summer Holidays at last. Hopefully the weather will stay fairly ok for the duration of the holidays enabling them to be out and about and no doubt some will be travelling to foreign shores on a break. But would you believe only yesterday I saw in a brochure advertising Back To School uniforms etc, God next it will be the Christmas Adverts, anyway enjoy the break and that includes the Mom’s and Dad’s too.

Congrats to Jeremiah O’Connor of Upper Athea, an avid Supporter of the Limerick Development  Draw /Mick Mackey who was the  lucky 2nd prize winner  recently of 3,000 Euro, well done to Jeremiah.

Graveyard Masses will be July 12th in Holy Cross at 7.30pm and Templeathea on Wednesday, July 26th at 7..30.

With not much news this week I’ll finish with a thoughtful piece to think about.

We all have a Bag and we all pack differently.

Some of us are travelling Light, whereas some of us are secret Hoarders who have never parted with a Memory in our lives.

I think we are all called to figure out how to carry our Bag, to the best of our ability.

How to Unpack it, and how to face the Mess.

Part of Growing Up is Learning how to Sit Down on the Floor with all your Things, and figuring out what to take with You and what to Leave Behind. Indeed Food For Thought.

There are still a few tickets left  for the annual Athea Club Development Draw with some great prizes, you are also helping to lessen the Loan on the pitch and do further necessary works and with the darker nights fast approaching the walking track will be again another asset. Tickets available from any GAA Member or I have a couple left.
