May at the Glórach
We’re still on a bit of a high at the Glórach after the fantastic Fleadh by the Feale concert on Saturday featuring the Máirtín O’Connor trio, but we can’t rest on our laurels as a busy schedule awaits us in May.

This Saturday, May 6th sees the play EvenEve, presented by LINC, come to the venue.  Starring Abbeyfeale Thespian Katie Moloney, the play centres around three Lesbian couples who win an exclusive audience and therapy sessions with the famous ‘Guru’.   The ‘Guru’s’  methods may or may not help to restore relationships, but they will guarantee a great night of comedy and drama.

Traditional music, dancing and singing will be the order of the night on Saturday, May 20th when Cherish the Ladies take to the stage, before a return to drama on the 26th and 27th with Mike O’Mahoney bringing his acclaimed one man show, entitled ‘Robert Service, Bard of the Yukon.’ Curtains up at 8pm for each performance and tickets can be booked at 0871383940 or at www.glorachabbeyfeale.com.

DEATH:  We offer our sympathy to the family of Diana O’Mahony, Caherhayes whose funeral took place on Thursday.  May she rest in peace.

WEDDING BELLS:  Congratulations to Aishling Moloney, daughter of Tom and Maureen, Knocknasna  and Bartholomew Cahillane who celebrated the sacrament of Marriage here in Abbeyfeale on 22nd April. We wish them every happiness in their married life together.

TALK ON HORMONES AND WELLBEING:  There was a fine attendance at the talk organised by West Limerick Mental Health Association on Hormones and Wellbeing and given by Dr. Mary Ryan Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist on Thursday, April 27 at the Longcourt Hotel NCW.  Two things I took from the night were that women need to pace themselves and spread the workload and drink at least two litres of water per day.  The talk by those who attended  was very positive and they felt that the evening this was well worth attending.

FLEADH BY THE FEALE: It started in the Library with the prize giving to the school children for their wonderful art work and moved from that to Thomas TJ’s and kept on building and building to a crescendo for the All Ireland Bones. Thank God for the weather, people were able to move around in comfort and a most enjoyable time was had by all.

ADORATION: The weekly adoration resumes in the Blessed Sacrament chapel every Friday from after 10am Mass until 7pm.  You are asked to sign the chart available on the altar rails to commit to one hour every week.
