A great crowd attended Tommy Moran’s Months mind Mass in Athea last Friday night, a testament to how much he was liked and admired. His son Tommy thanked all and vowed that the family would keep in touch with Athea always.

Wishing a speedy recovery to Patrick Langan, Glasha who had an operation recently in Cork hospital.

Belated birthday wishes to Joan (Hannie) Healy, nee O’Grady from Barneigue now living in the UK, who celebrated her 100th birthday recently. Joan is a sister to my neighbour Jack O’Grady RIP . Joan is widowed and still lives on her own. Wishing her good health will continue.

The Abha Bhán Parish Park in Loughill opened up a coffee shop on the grounds last weeks. A great idea for the parents to sit and have a break while the young children have fun. The shop will be open at weekends up to the Summer Holidays and opening everyday there after. Your support is always very welcome

The Abha Bhán Players will meet this Friday night in Ballyhahill Hall to discuss future plans.

Ballyhahill National School is having a collection of unwanted clothing on May 11th so if you are spring cleaning you know what to do. Drop any bags off to the school or to somebody who will take them to the school. Please spread the word to anyone who can donate. All donations greatly appreciated. I see five or six bags dumped next to the clothing bank in Knockdown where they will get destroyed by weather. Such a waste when they could be put to good use by dropping them to schools most of whom collect to make funds for the school.

Did anybody watch the “Wild Islands” TV show last Sunday night. It had beautiful photography and was most interesting.
