WELCOME TO MARCH
It seems we are always wishing our lives away and I suppose we won’t change. It was only like the other day that Christmas was upon us, and then many weren’t looking forward to the continuing dark days. But look at it aren’t we into March already and one can see the evenings and mornings getting brighter the daffodils are blooming and things are coming back to life after the Winter recess. Now as the saying goes – The March wind doth blow and we shall have snow etc, and this could yet happen, but we are on the road to brighter and warmer days ahead hopefully and we will have a spring in our step.
Sincere congrats are extended to Nicola Scanlon of Templeathea who celebrated her 21st birthday along with her family and friends at Brown Joe’s on Saturday night last and afterwards at Nicola’s home. Everyone had a great night.
Well it was a great evening of Music and keeping fit on Thursday last up at the GAA TRACK when Healthy Athea had their first night of Step To The Beat with the new Sound System from 6.30–7.30. The music could be heard as far as Knocknagorna I’m told. Everyone is invited to send in their favourite song and hopefully it will get played. Also CCTV cameras have been installed at the track, which along with the lighting makes it so safe. You also have an opportunity to buy tickets for a lovely hamper with the winner being picked at Easter. Lines are 2 Euro or 3 for 5 Euro, the money raised will go towards the cost of the cameras and sound system which totalled 8.5k. It’s a great safe place for everyone to walk, run or jog and our elderly are delighted especially due to traffic on the roads. You are asked to support all the fund raisers as its a small price to pay for everyone’s safety.
Have you heard of the latest complaint people are attending doctors with in the USA. It’s called Tech-Neck.. I had never heard of it. A lot of young people are complaining about it, it’s from having their necks bent down for too long on their phones and computers etc. What next I say.
With social media it’s easy to forget about letters, but its nice to take time to send a handwritten letter to someone. It’s tempting to think of letter writing as a Dying Art but Modern Technology simply doesn’t convey enough Emotion for many. Whether keeping in touch with relatives, writing Thank you notes, or messages to someone who has lost someone dear to them. Letters still have a very special place. So maybe get out those Biros and put Pen to Paper and write to someone who would really love to hear from you.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:-
Being Happy doesn’t mean you have everything-but being thankful for what you have.
