A great crowd gathered in the Knockdown Arms on Saturday night last to celebrate Mike and Brenda becoming Mr. and Mrs. We wish them many years of happiness together. They are a popular couple in the area.
Best of luck to Athea Drama group as they go on stage this weekend with The Anniversary. No doubt it will be a full house every night. I look forward to attending next week. Best of luck also to Abbeyfeale drama on their production of “Many young men of twenty” by John B Keane.
The Taste cafe in Glin is closed for this month as Shanta has to go back to Sri Lanka to be with his brother who is ill. We look forward to him returning and the cafe opening up again.
Thanks to all my friends and family who helped me celebrate a significant birthday last week. I am now officially a septuagenarian. It is a little bit daunting to realise how fast we are moving on! But thank God we are as good as we are. Long may it continue. As a matter of curiosity the average wage in 1953 was £8 per week!
