HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY
Just to wish everyone no matter what age you are a very Happy Valentines Day. And whether you are going out to celebrate, or just having a nice night in at home enjoy the special day. And who knows we might have an engagement or 2 in the parish before the week is over.
A reminder that the Tuesday Club for over 55s takes place in the Hall every Tuesday at 11.30 am with Nicole. All Abilities are welcome to come along for some exercise, a chat and above all making new friends and getting those bones moving again. And if anyone has seen the new programme that’s advertised called SUPERAGERS, which starts on Monday next 20th on RTE1 AT 9.30 ,which has some men and women in their 80s and 90s dancing and exercising, you will see how they are so fit.
I was listening to an article on the radio recently and it was a shock to hear that some of our youth aren’t able to tell the time on the clocks that have Roman Numerals instead of figures on them. Also a lot of our young people it said can’t spell properly anymore, not to mention the way we learned our TIMES TABLES, to this day all of our age group and younger can answer any multiplication straight away. Nowadays its calculators on phones and the worst thing the Art of CONVERSATION is gone out the window. Of course all cannot be painted with the same Brush but it’s a sign of the Times and a bit SAD in a way. I know a lady who recently gave 2 or 3 young students a drive to ABBEYFEALE out of the goodness of her HEART, and not 1 word was uttered by any of them to her despite her effort to make conversation, God be with the old days.
Mother Nature can be cruel sometimes and we often wonder why such devastation like Turkey-Syria are experiencing at the moment is happening. Where are these unfortunate families going to go in the terrible cold weather, some of the little Kids with their Parents taken from them roaming around, no where to feel safe, we can only look on and hope they can come from this terrible atrocity.
Congrats to Denis Murphy, Dirreen, who recently celebrated his 60th birthday along with his family, all having a lovely day.
I haven’t been to the play yet The ANNIVERSARY but I’ve heard its excellent and being so well attended from far and near, can’t wait to see it the acting is Top NOTCH I’m told .
Thought For The Week:-
Too Many people think the Grass is Greener somewhere else – But the grass is Green where You Water it-REMEMBER THAT.
