Well done to Abbeyfeale on their new calendar. It was great to see Noreen and Aoife on Ireland AM on Monday morning showing off their home town. Shows what can be done when a group of enthusiastic people get together.
The same goes for the members of the Abha Bhán Players and the whole community. The Parish Hall was packed last weekend for both performances of The Buds of Ballybunion. I hear next weekend is almost booked out now too. It has been great fun preparing for this and the team greatly appreciates all the support from every quarter. Events like this bring a whole community together and lifts the spirits of all. I’m glad to see that Athea Drama are preparing for their February performances too. Athea Drama group puts us to shame as they pick their play and have it ready in three months. We, in Ballyhahill, make a marathon out of it!
It is lovely to see local businesses thriving. Congratulations to Kearney’s Homebaking Ltd on becoming a Gold Member of Origin Green Ireland recently. All these businesses have to keep coming up with new ideas and new products so it is interesting to see that the Kearney women have combined with local lady Lisa Daly of Thisisyou – keepsake collection to put together corporate Christmas Food Hampers combining products from both businesses. There was a lovely article in the Limerick Leader last week about it. Wishing them all best of luck as always.
It is coming up to two years since Jim got his stroke and lately he has made some progress. He can walk a little bit on his own now – under supervision, of course. We will keep on hoping for more progress as time goes on.
