A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME: Glórach, The Ploughing Championship and Shakespeare.: Fresh ground will be broken during the ploughing championship in Carlow, which ends Thursday 22nd September.  Glórach will, also, break fresh ground on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th September when we plough on with bringing innovative and exciting shows to Abbeyfeale. The show in question is a one woman show titled “A Rose By Any Other Name”and performed by, Cork woman, Rosemary Loughlin fresh from her success with the show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it ran for thirteen performances and received many rave reviews such as: “Loughlin’s skill as a performer and storyteller maintains the intrigue of a well-put together piece of documentary theatre that would also make a great television series”The show deals with the Shakespeare authorship question, with Rose charting the colourful journey of her real-life experiences to discover who is the real Shakespeare? From clues in Cambridge, to proof in Padua, and validations in Venice, she offers incredible insights, tales of entertaining encounters, and moving monologues. Underpinned by themes of personal transformation and the joy of discovery, her charm and conviction will awake curiosity and bring a smile to even the stoniest of faces.  Persuading Rose to choose Glórach as the stage for the Irish Premiere of her show was no easy task and we had to remind her that her father, a proud Castleisland man, would want his daughter to perform the show nearer to his hometown rather than, as the Healy-Raes would say, for the benefit of “them,up there in Dublin”!..Book for the show on glorachabbeyfeale.com or 087 1383940.
