CHANGES IN THE DIOCESE: Bishop Brendan Leahy has made the following Clerical changes, with effect from September 10. Fr. Tony Mullins, continuing as Vicar General and Co-Parish Priest in the Pastoral Unit of Abbeyfeale, Athea, Templeglantine, Tournafulla/
Mountcollins, appointed as Episcopal Vicar for Pastoral Ministry and Mission
in the Diocese. Fr. Willie Russell, Co-Parish Priest of the Pastoral Unit made up of the parishes of Rathkeale, Ballingarry/Granagh, Knockaderry/Cloncagh to be Co-Parish Priest of the Unit made up of parishes of Abbeyfeale, Athea, Templeglantine, Tournafulla/Mountcollins. Fr Russell will reside in Abbeyfeale. As the news breaks about the changes in the Diocese we thank God for our priests: “Gracious and loving God, we thank you for the gift of our priests. Through them, we experience your presence in the sacraments. Help our priests to be strong in their faith and vocation. Set their souls on fire with love for your people. Grant them the wisdom, understanding, and strength they need
to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Inspire them with the vision of your Kingdom.
Give them the words they need to spread the Gospel. Allow them to experience joy in their ministry. Help them to become instruments of your divine grace, and to bring fresh heart to the parish, the Church, and the world. We ask this through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns as our Eternal Priest, forever and ever”. Amen.

OSKARS: The Oskars will be taking place in the Devon Inn on Friday, October 21. This fundraiser for St. Ita’s Sheltered Housing has been rescheduled from October 2020.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: The Abbeyfeale Christmas Lights committee say “In our town, we believe in Christmas. With this in mind, we started 5 years ago to provide new lighting. Every year we work very hard with volunteers to fundraise so that we can add to our stock. RAMBLING HOUSE: Jim Lyons’s Rambling House in Knockalougha is back on the third Tuesday of each month.
TINTEAN Theatre Ballybunion on July 24. Three legends of traditional Irish music will perform at Ballybunion Arts Festival. Dermot Byrne is on the button accordion, Steve Cooney is on guitar and Dezi Donnelly will play fiddle.
DANCING Ballybunion every Tuesday night from 7.30pm upstairs in the Community Centre.
