Hurleys and Helmets Wanted
Athea has a great tradition of playing hurling either with Athea or Templeglantine. Hurling within the club was once again reignited 3 years ago, and as a young club, it is continuing to grow. So to continue this growth we are looking for your old but functional hurleys or helmets that are no longer used. All sizes will be accepted and can be dropped to the clubhouse any Sunday morning between 11 & 12.Thank you for your support.

Athea travelled by bus to play St. Patricks (Limerick City) on Thursday April 21st in the second round of the league. St Patricks were very strong however to Athea’s credit we battled for the entire match and kick some lovely scores. Unfortunately for Athea St. Patrick found the net twice in the second half to run out comfortably winners. This was a great experience for our young team to travel to Limerick City to take on a proud St. Patricks club. Training continues at 6:30 every Monday and next game is at home to Monagea on May 05th at 7pm.
Team: Jamie Brosnan, Jack Leahy, Daniel Leahy, Paddy O’Connor, Tony Ambrose, Daniel Hunt, Tadhg Hunt, Jamie Quinn, Mark Collins, Daniel Broderick, Mark Ahern, Aaron Hunt, Patrick Healy, Aaron Broderick, Conor Leach,

We played our second league match against St. Senans in Athea on Tuesday evening last on a beautiful evening for football. We had 18 players and were able to field two even teams of 9 a-side.
All our players got full game time which is vital at this age and each and every player were excellent with great teamwork, excellent scores and a very high level of skill on display from both teams.
Special thanks to Derek Byrne & TJ Hunt for refereeing on the evening.

Junior A League
Athea B 0-10 Granagh/Ballingarry 0-15
G/B were hot favourites for a big win as they are the 2021 county Junior B champions and are also in the Munster Junior B Championship final. Our boys put in a fantastic performance to push them all the way in Athea last Sunday evening. We had a mixture of youth and experience on duty and they gelled really well, playing some very attractive football. They defended stoutly and got some nice scores, the pick of which was an excellent point from cornerback Eoin Sheahan after running the length of the pitch.
Team Colin Broderick, Ray Brouder, Connor Fitzgerald, Eoin Sheahan,(0-1) Philip Daly, Micheál Dalton, Luke Gleeson, Martin Chawke(0-1), Alan Kelly, Jason Kelly, T.J.
