There was a huge crowd at the Rambling House in Ballyhahill Parish Hall last Wednesday night with lots of music, dance, song, recitation and food! This monthly event is turning out to be huge success thanks to the dedicated committee who organises it.

I hope you all had a lovely Easter. The Church ceremonies were well attended although nothing like what they used to be when I was young when you’d hardly get a seat in the church. For the first time a lay person led the Stations of the Cross prayers in Ballyhahill on Good Friday, as both our priests Fr. McNamara and Fr. Curtin were busy in the other churches of our pastoral unit. The Dawn Mass in Kilteery on Easter Sunday had to be diverted to Loughill Church due to the rain so there was no dancing sun at dawn, I’m afraid.

Congratulations to my grandchild Saibh Prendeville, 8 years old, who got 1st place in Derra Equestrian Centre in the X-poles competition, 50 cm, recently. Saibh is passionate about her riding lessons and is among the youngest who took part so she is very proud of her trophy, as you can see from the photo. She and her pony Snowflake are best buddies. Her cousin Ayda Daly came in 4th in the same competition, so all were happy.
