OUT AND ABOUT

Sincere congrats are in order this week for a few different reasons, all good I may add.

Firstly sincere congrats are extended to our near neighbour Hayley McMahon and her husband Andy, on the recent birth of their new baby boy who they are naming Shay Cillian, a precious little brother for Malachy, Keeva and Calla, who are all super excited with their new baby brother.

Next congrats are extended to Michael Ahern, son of Betty and Joe, who recently got married to Maranda Elswick in a lovely civil ceremony, in the beautiful Adare Manor. A great day was enjoyed by family, relatives and friends and  family members of the bride and friends of the couple from America. The newlyweds are honeymooning in Mauritius and will return back to Florida. They are wished all the very best for the future.

Another congratulations are sent to Edel O’Sullivan, daughter of Sandra and Noel of Hillside Drive, Athea, who won the Solo Singing in Cashel, Co Tipperary in the Munster Final at the weekend in the SCOR Competition. Edel now proceeds to the All Ireland in the INEC in Killarney in the near future. Well done Edel.

Congrats to Trish Ahern who organised the U14 girls basketball blitz in the hall here on Saturday last, in aid of Milford Hospice. A total of €220 was raised. Thanks to the Hall committee who sponsored the hall, and Ahern Concrete who sponsored the medals. Teams came from Kerry and Limerick. A great day of sport for a very worthy cause was enjoyed. Well done to all.

Wasn’t it great to see Charlie Bird and everyone all over the country and indeed in many other countries who climbed Croagh Patrick and various other hills and mountains and raised great amounts all for Motor Neurone,  what an achievement. As Daniel O’Donnell said in an emotional voice at the top – 1 Man Uniting the Country – and another man Destroying the World.

If anyone would like to join The Friends Of Limerick Football on the Walk next Saturday, April 9th, it takes place along the Limerick Greenway, Branagh to Templeglantine – return starting at 11 am sharp. You can walk – run – cycle. All funds raised go towards the Limerick underage Football Academies and Limerick Minor and Senior Football Training Funds. Registration is from 10.30 am. Anyone wishing to sponsor and give a couple of Euro can contact myself or Evan Curry.

Thought for the Week:- Life is like a Cup Of Tea – It’s All About How You Make It.
